Our Story

     S.H.I.N.E. Together is a non-profit 501 (C)(3) organization that benefits the youth and their families in Johnson County and surrounding counties.
     S.H.I.N.E. is in its third year of providing food to high school students during the 66 hours between school bells on Friday afternoon and school bells on Monday morning. We currently have three high schools who we have had the opportunity of providing food pantries in and are wanting to reach our goal of 7 by the the end of the year 2020. 
     For the past 6 years, S.H.I.N.E, in affiliation with Peacocks Transmission, as well as Main Street Elite Auto Repair and Main Street Elite Classic Auto Repair have all together provided backpacks for numerous students grade Pre-k through fifth. Along with materials and necessities we have also been able to provide these students with health services such as eye exams, free physicals and visual dental exams with oral hygiene instruction.
​​     During Christmas Season S.H.I.N.E. Together donates gifts and necessities to these well-deserving students and their families including items like bicycles, cars, and groceries. They have done this with help of participation with Shop-with-a-Cop in the past. Cooperative leadership and community outreach like this will continue with your help and support.

Food Pantries

We currently have three food pantries in surrounding high schools of the Johnson County area and are aiming at administering 7 more by the end of the year 2020. ​

Backpack Give-Aways

Every summer, we give away backpacks filled with basic school supplies to area Elementary Students.
